Williamsburg Youth Orchestras' Dates:
Monday, August 11 - Friday, August 15 This summer the Williamsburg Youth Orchestras invite student musicians of all ages and experience levels for a week of daily rehearsals. The Festival will feature classes in music theory, ear-training, master classes and will culminate with a public performance. Please join us for a chance to share your enthusiasm for music while being mentored and instructed by a distinguished faculty. WYO Summer Music Festival Information The Young Artists Program (YAP) is designed for students who have been performing for at least one year on their primary instrument and would like to improve their skill at an accelerated level. Classes in music theory and ear training will give each student a healthy review of ideas and a head start on more advanced elements. YAP participants will rehearse as a large ensemble and break into chamber groups through the week. While many of the students in the YAP will differ in levels of experience, emphasis is placed on individual attention. Participants in the Young Professionals Seminar (YPS) are advanced high school students with several years of performing experience. Each member will rehearse daily in a symphony orchestra, chamber groups, and have classes in advanced music theory or conducting.
